Lara Lowman has more than 20 years of experience in marketing communications and public relations, working with companies and organizations ranging from Best Buy to The Lovett School, the Internet start-up, IKEA subsidiary OptiLedge, and WorldCom, where she served as editor of the quarterly magazine for business customers. Her work for Best Buy includes managing appearances related to the partnership with Magic Johnson Enterprises, coordinating logistics for Geek Squad’s sponsorship of IdeaFestival, and the Inauguration event at Constitution Hall in January 2009. Her publications have won awards from the Council for the Advancement of Secondary Education, she has presented workshops on marketing communications at national conferences for non-profits, and she has written fundraising collateral and strategic plans that have raised millions. She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals and has served on boards and committees for Summerbridge Breakthrough Alumni Network and Southern Methodist University.  Her philanthropic efforts include walking the Atlanta 60-mile 3-day five times in support of Susan Komen for the Cure.
